Access Partners’ 6-phased Approach to Business Development
Our six-phased approach applies an incubator approach to business development. The approach includes the process for starting, developing, growing, and transitioning management of a BAM business. This approach was developed with the intention of increasing efficiency, clarity of expectations between the parties involved, and aiming for excellence for each project that we undertake.
Phase 1: Exploration
Deliverables during this phase may include:
- Church planting strategy summary (based on interviews, team’s existing church planting strategy documentation)
- Business concept papers
- High-level business model comparative matrix
- Recommendation for strongest business model for the location
Phase 2: Incubation
Deliverables during this phase may include:
- Business Plan
- Business Proposal for VC Investors
- Business Director Program participation
- Recommendation for business startup or return to Phase 1
Phase 3: Pre-Launch
Deliverables during this phase may include:
- Refined business plan
- On-the-ground trip
- Recommendation on whether to continue with the launch or re-group
Phase 4: Launch
Deliverables during this phase may include:
- Set up of ongoing support structure, including a board of advisors
- Business Director deployment
Phase 5: Growth
Deliverables during this phase may include:
- Next year’s business plan
- Ongoing recommendations for growing the company
Phase 6: Transition
Deliverables during this phase may include:
- Founders in oversight role
- Founders exit strategy
